The Manipur assembly will hold its session from February 28 and the government is expected to present a Vote on Account for four months. The Manipur cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister N Biren Singh on Saturday decided to present a Vote on Account for the first four months of the financial year 2024-25.

Manipur's information and public relation minister Sapam Ranjan Singh said that the Revised Budget Estimate 2023-24, Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (Fifth Amendment Bill), 2024, were the approved agendas which were decided to be tabled in the assembly.

The Sixth Amendment Bill, 2024, of Manipur Goods and Service Taxes was also approved to be tabled in the assembly, he said.


The cabinet also decided to place the Manipur Labour Laws (Exemption from Renewal of Registration and Licence by establishment) Manipur Bill, 2024, in the Manipur legislative assembly for enactment as an act, the minister added. On August 29 last year, a one-day session of the Manipur assembly was held. Ten Kuki-Zomi-Hmar MLAs of Manipur, including two ministers did not attend the session.
