Man unable to pay for iPhone kills delivery agent in K'taka; hides body for 4 days

A 20-year-old man from Karnataka allegedly killed an E-kart delivery partner who came to deliver an iPhone. The incident took place in Karnataka's Hassan district. The accused, identified as Hemanth Dutt had the body in his home for four days before attempting to burn it near a railway station.

The accused had stabbed the delivery boy because he did not have the money to pay for the iPhone he had order online.

The matter came to light when a charred body was found near Anchkoppal Railway station on 11th February, following which the police launched a probe.


During the course of the investigation, the police found that the deceased, Hemanth Naik (23), used to work at an E-kart express delivery service and he had gone to deliver a second-hand iPhone which was order online by Hemant Dutta at his house near Lakshmipura Layout on 7th February.

When Naik demanded the money, Rs 46,000 for the order, Hemant stabbed him to death and kept the body for four days at his home.

He later packed the body in a gunny bag, transported it on his bike and burnt it near the railway station. The CCTV footage showed the accused carrying the dead body on his bike while he was on his way to burn the body.

The police traced the CCTV footage and arrested the man.
