Mamata Banerjee's house is smaller than mine, says a 'jealous' Salman Khan

Superstar Salman Khan expressed his admiration for West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's humble house, emphasizing that it exemplifies the idea that one doesn't need much to live. Speaking at the inauguration of the Kolkata International Film Festival, Khan reminisced about his visit to Banerjee's house in Kalighat area during his trip to the city.

"When Didi invited me to her house, my only thought was to see if it was really small, smaller than mine... Shatru sir (Shatrughan Sinha) visited my house and had trouble finding a place to sit. It's just one room, a small kitchen like a pantry, and a bedroom," he revealed.

"I'm jealous that her house is actually smaller than mine. It's astonishing how someone in her position can have a smaller house. I'm not wishing for a smaller house, but it's made me feel self-conscious. It demonstrates the simplicity of people and how we don't need much," he added, pointing towards the chief minister, receiving applause from the audience.


On the same note, Salman Khan recounted his meeting with actor Anil Kapoor for the film 'No Entry'. "One day, Anil Kapoor invited me to his house. Initially, I thought the ground floor was his home. Then he said, let's go to the first floor, and I assumed that was where he lived. But then, second, third, fourth... he has a five-storied house, and I think it's even bigger now," he said.

"I asked him if he invited me here to make me jealous. He replied, 'No, I need help with a film called 'No Entry'. I took the film, and he assisted me with that character. Today, I'm here because people loved the film and the character. Thank you, Kapoor sir," Khan expressed his gratitude.

Salman Khan also mentioned that this was the largest film festival he has ever attended.
