The survey, conducted among 500,000 people over more than six months in 2023, found that 53.8% of the Gen Z respondents were seeking astrological guidance, mostly on relationships.
The respondents showed a preference for chatting (39.8%), nearly twice as many as those for phone consultations, for astro consultancy.
Gen Z is four times as likely to seek free consultations from astrologers before committing to paid services compared to millennials (those born between the early 1980s and the late 1990s) and boomers (those born between 1945 and 1965), according to the survey.
It found that in cities that have high social media usage, Gen Z users accounted for 60.2% of the total online astrology users, while non-Gen Z users constituted 39.8%.
Nearly 80% of Gen Z queries were relationship-related, focusing on current relationships or the potential rekindling of past ones.
“Our commitment to providing accurate and insightful astrological guidance in a contemporary format has resonated well with the younger audience,” said Aditya Kapoor, chief operating office, Astroyogi.
Kapoor said the astrology platform follows a rigorous four-step recruitment process for authentic astrologers.
