Maha's coronavirus cases surge to 1,800; 6 more die

More than half of the 1,800 new coronavirus cases in Maharashtra on Wednesday came from Mumbai, a sharp increase from the 836 cases the previous day, and six more patients died as a result of the infection, according to the state's health department.

According to a department bulletin, these recent additions brought the total number of COVID-19 cases to 80,76,165, while also raising the death toll to 1,48,180.

The state has 836 cases and two fatalities associated with the respiratory ailment as of Tuesday. According to the warning, 975 new cases and two fatalities linked to the coronavirus were reported in Mumbai.


Each of the local governments in the districts of Mira Bhayander, Nashik, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and Satara reported one fatality, it added.

In the state, the recovery rate was 98.02 percent, while the case fatality rate was 1.83 percent
According to the report, 2,182 individuals who had been infected had recovered in the previous 24 hours, bringing their total to 79,16,615 and leaving the state with 11,370 ongoing cases.
