Maharashtra's Latur city has witnessed an extraordinary 469 mm rainfall so far in the month of May, which is highly unusual for this time of the year, say experts.

On Tuesday, the city received 125 mm of rainfall within three hours, the highest in the last 25 years, said Dr Babasaheb Thombre, dean of the government-run College of Agriculture in Latur where they regularly measure the seasonal downpour.

Heavy rains caused water-logging in several parts of the city and inundated homes in multiple localities, disrupting daily life.
