Maharashtra to provide free health treatments in government hospitals

Maharashtra Health Minister Tanaji Sawant announced that all treatments in Government Hospitals will be provided free of cost by the government. ​​The decision has been taken in the cabinet meeting today.

All the Maharashtrian citizens will be provided with free of cost treatments in the government hospitals. The decision has been taken in the cabinet meeting today by the state Health Minister Tanaji Sawant.

In 2020, Maharashtra became the first state to provide free and cashless insurance protection to its people as then State Health Minister Rajesh Tope announced that all citizens will be covered under the state government's health scheme, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY).
