Maharashtra TET postponed after alleged question paper leak
The arrests are linked to the alleged paper leak that prompted the Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) to postpone the TET, which was scheduled to be held on June 28.
According to officials, Bhiwandi Police acted on specific intelligence in the early hours of Saturday and conducted a raid at a suspected location. Senior MSCE officials were called to verify the seized material and found that several questions matched the actual TET paper prepared for the June 2026 examination.
Following the discovery, the MSCE had announced the postponement of the examination, saying the decision was taken to ensure complete transparency and allow for an in-depth investigation.
"The Council remains firmly committed to conducting the examination with complete transparency. Given the gravity of the situation and the necessity for an in-depth probe, the exam scheduled for June 28, 2026, has been postponed," the council said in a statement.
Police have registered a criminal case and launched an investigation into the alleged paper leak. The examination council reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards malpractice and said revised dates for the examination would be announced on its official website.
