Maharashtra reports 4,255 new COVID-19 cases

Maharashtra on Thursday recorded 4,255 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the number of active cases to 20,634. Besides, 3 COVID-19 deaths were reported in the day, taking the tally to 1,47,880.

The Mumbai circle--which consists of MCGM, Thane, TMC, Navi Mumbai, KDMC, Ulhasnagar MC, Bhivandi Nijampur MC, Mira Bhayandar MC, Palghar, Vasai Virar MC, Raigad, Panvel MC--recorded 3718 new cases.

2879 patients were discharged in the day, taking the tally to 77,55,183. The recovery rate in the state is 97.87%. The case fatality rate in the state is 1.86%.


For the first time since February, India reported over 10,000 new Covid-19 cases in single day. At 12,213, the daily case count has seen massive 40 per cent increase, the government data showed. Major metros such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune are reporting higher number of new infections.
