Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, who took stock of the situation, said the rains in the last four days have impacted 12 to 15 lakh hectares of crops. "We have authorised the district collectors to release financial help in case of losses. For damage to crops, we have ordered punchnama," he said.
"In some areas of Mumbai there has been 300 mm of rain which has caused water logging... We have asked neighbouring Karnataka and Telangana to release more water from their dams so that water could recede faster," he said. Fadnavis advised citizens not to leave their homes unless necessary.
