Devendra Fadnavis returns as Maharashtra CM for 3rd time, Eknath Shinde, Ajit Pawar Deputy CMs
Devendra Fadnavis is set to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra at a grand ceremony scheduled to take place at Azad Maidan in Mumbai on Thursday, December 5, at 5.30 pm.

The swearing-in ceremony, which will also witness the oath-taking of the Deputy Chief Ministers and other key leaders, is expected to see attendance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and top leaders.

It is also expected to draw a large crowd, prompting the Mumbai Traffic Police to issue restrictions to ensure smooth vehicular movement in the area.


Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Pradnya Jedge, in a press statement, urged citizens to plan their journeys accordingly as traffic curbs will be in effect from noon until the conclusion of the event.

Key Traffic Restrictions

Mahapalika Marg: Traffic will be prohibited on both bounds from CSMT Junction to Metro Junction. Motorists can use LT Marg, Chakala Junction, DN Road, and CSMT Junction as alternative routes.

Mahatma Gandhi Marg: No entry on both bounds from OCS Junction to Metro Junction. Alternate routes include LT Marg or MK Road, depending on the destination.

Hazarimal Somani Marg: Traffic will be restricted from OCS Junction to CSMT Junction. Drivers can opt for OCS Junction, Hutatma Chowk, Kalaghoda, and K Dubhash Marg instead.

Princess Street Bridge (South Bound): No entry from NS Road (Marine Drive) and Coastal Road towards Shyamaldas Gandhi Junction. Alternate route via NS Road recommended.

Rambhau Salgaonkar Road: Open for two-way traffic between Indu Clinic Junction and Volga Chowk from noon to 8 pm.

Citizens are advised to follow traffic updates and cooperate with the authorities.
