Earthquake of magnitude 5.8 strikes Assam

An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale shook Assam on Sunday. The tremor was recorded at 4:41 pm, with its epicentre located in Assam’s Udalguri district.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the depth of the quake was measured at 5 kilometres.



There were no immediate reports of any loss of life or damage to property, reported PTI.
