Luminous names Vivek Abrol MD and CEO

New Delhi: Luminous Power Technologies has appointed Vivek Abrol its managing director and chief executive officer, effective January 19, succeeding Preeti Bajaj, who is moving to parent company Schneider Electric, the company said on Monday.

Abrol takes charge at a time when Luminous is expanding beyond its core inverter and battery business into solar and broader consumer energy solutions. His mandate includes driving profitable growth, strengthening the company’s position in traditional power backup segments and accelerating its push into sustainable and technology-enabled energy offerings.

Abrol brings over 25 years of leadership experience across FMCG, electricals and consumer goods. He began his career at ITC Ltd, where he spent 16 years in leadership roles across FMCG businesses, before serving as business head and chief executive at companies including Pidilite Industries and RR Kabel.


Most recently, Abrol was chief executive of RR Kabel’s Consumer Electricals business. He was also involved in merger and acquisition activity and played a key role in the company’s IPO process.

Preeti Bajaj, who led Luminous through a period of expansion and transition towards solar-led solutions, will join Schneider Electric as executive vice president, where she will head the global home solutions division.
