L&T secures mega order to build India’s largest NVIDIA B300 AI Factory

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a mega order to build India’s largest single-cluster artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure facility, marking the engineering conglomerate’s entry into the AI Factory business, the company said in a regulatory filing on Thursday.

L&T classifies orders valued at Rs 10,000-15000 crore as mega orders.

Through its AI infrastructure subsidiary LTN Compute and L&T’s AI and data centre business Vyoma.AI, the company will deploy an NVIDIA B300-based AI Factory at its Chennai data centre campus for US-based AI cloud platform Together AI.

The facility will have a capacity of 10,000 NVIDIA B300 GPUs and will support large-scale AI training, inference and fine-tuning workloads. It will combine hyperscale data centre infrastructure, accelerated computing, high-performance networking, low-latency interconnects, parallel storage and AI infrastructure operations.

Vyoma’s Chennai campus is designed as a gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure site, with Phase 1 planned for 250 MW and power infrastructure readiness of 150 MVA. This is expected to provide a platform for future expansion of AI Factory capacity.

“Artificial Intelligence is becoming foundational to every industry and AI Factories will power this transformation,” L&T chairman and managing director S N Subrahmanyan said. He added that the deployment marks a milestone in L&T’s gigawatt AI infrastructure mission and its efforts to position India as a global hub for next-generation AI infrastructure.

Together AI co-founder and CEO Vipul Ved Prakash said the company partnered with L&T to bring the scale, resilience and engineering capabilities required for the next phase of AI infrastructure development in India.

LTN Compute is developing AI-ready digital infrastructure across India, including hyperscale AI data centres, sovereign cloud platforms, AI Factory services, GPU-as-a-Service and managed AI platforms.
