LPG shortage fears grow as Gulf supplies halt; govt boosts output

India has moved to secure domestic LPG supply as the West Asia conflict disrupts fuel flows from the Gulf. The Petroleum Ministry has asked refineries to increase LPG production and prioritised household supply with a 25-day booking gap. Commercial users such as restaurants and industries are reporting shortages. In Pune, gas-based crematoriums were temporarily shut as authorities conserved LPG for essential services.
