Little rain, possible dust storm in Delhi; lowest temperature at 30.4 °C
Delhi experienced extreme temperatures and weather changes, with the India Meteorological Department predicting a heatwave. The Air Quality Index was 'poor', and the Southwest Monsoon has progressed into Kerala and Northeast India.

According to the weather service, today will be mostly cloudy with a heatwave, a chance of dust storms or thunderstorms, and very light rain mixed with strong gusts.
The maximum temperature of 46.8 degrees Celsius was recorded on Wednesday at Delhi's main meteorological station, Safdarjung. This is the highest reading in 79 years. It was June 17, 1945, and the temperature was 46.7 °C.
There was a sudden change in the weather on Wednesday evening, with drizzle in many areas of the city.
It's expected to get as high as 45 degrees Celsius. At 8:30 a.m., the humidity level was 36%. As to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 236 which puts it in the 'poor' category.
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.
Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon has set in over Kerala and advanced into most parts of Northeast India today, the 30th May, 2024.
