The national capital saw light showers on Sunday, with the surrounding region also drenched in the early hours of the day. The India Meteorological Department forecasted Sunday's showers, warning of generally cloudy skies and light rain thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds.

"Wet spell with thunderstorm and hailstorm at isolated places is likely over Northwest & adjoining Central India during 03rd to 05th with peak activity on 04th February, 2024," the IMD said in a tweet on Saturday.

According to reports, these showers are a consequence of a western disturbance that hit NW India on Saturday, February 3, and now lies over southwest Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan.

It's also likely to be windy in NW India thanks to the disturbances in the region.

Dense fog, which has played spoilsport in the national capital over the past few weeks, is likely to return in the early hours of Monday and Tuesday, with Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana also affected.
