Jammu & Kashmir lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha met delegations of political parties, including the PAGD and BJP, regarding the recent killing of a Kashmiri Pandit employee and promised that all migrant employees would be transferred to safe and secure postings in district and tehsil headquarters within a week.

Sinha said that the SIT constituted to probe the killing of Bhat will also investigate why force was used to control Kashmiri Pandit protesters demanding justice.

"We have convened a meeting regarding the security of these people and within a week they will be transferred and posted at secure places at district and tehsil headquarters... They had some other concerns and grievances, which will be addressed as well," said Sinha.

The LG alleged that some people are hell bent on disturbing peace, but the administration is looking at this matter seriously and won't allow such incidents to happen again. "Rahul Bhat was targeted to create atmosphere of fear and terror. We have constituted SIT. SHO has been attached as well," he said. Sinha also promised that the SIT will also investigate the use of force and batton charge against the protesting Kashmiri Pandits. "We appeal that they should be patient and peaceful. We understand their pain. We will make stringent security arrangements wherever they live in the Valley," he said adding, "We have given directions to the administration that they should not use force anywhere."

The BJP delegation led by its J&K chief Ravinder Raina and People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration led by Farooq Abdullah shared their concerns about the minority community with the LG. The LG urged people and political parties to boycott the elements who are involved in such incidents and also march for peace and help the administration in confidence-building measures.
