LeT operative Shabir Ahmed Lone arrested in Delhi, planned attacks in crowded areas
Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested Shabir Ahmed Lone, a wanted operative of Lashkar-e-Taiba, from Ghazipur. Lone has been identified as the handler of a recently busted module linked to the Metro poster case. Police say he was residing in Bangladesh and had set up a safe house in Kolkata. Investigations reveal that he conducted reconnaissance at high-footfall locations with suspected plans to carry out terror attacks. He was also attempting to rebuild networks and recruit new operatives. Authorities recovered foreign currencies and a Nepali SIM card, pointing to cross-border links
