In a recent statement, Pannun criticized Indo-Hindus, alleging that they were involved in a harmful and aggressive campaign detrimental to Canadian interests. This criticism comes in the wake of Canada suspending trade with India, citing interference in its internal affairs.
Pannun did not mince words when he called on Indo-Hindus to "Leave Canada - Go To India." He asserted, "Indo-Hindus who work against the interests of Canada have effectively repudiated their allegiance to Canada. They must go back to India, the country whose interests they protect and promote while reaping the economic benefits from Canada."
Furthermore, Pannun made a troubling claim that some Indo-Hindus in Canada had celebrated the assassination of Khalistan Tiger Force chief Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was killed in the parking lot of a gurdwara in Surrey, Canada, not long ago. He stated, "Canada has no place for those Indo-Hindus who are siding with India in suppressing freedom of expression and in promoting violence against Pro Khalistan Sikhs."
It is worth noting that Gurpatwant Singh Pannun was designated as a terrorist by the Union home ministry in 2020 under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act of 1967. Despite this designation, Pannun announced that the SFJ plans to hold Khalistan Referendum-II on October 29, 2023, in Surrey, BC, Canada. Additionally, the organization intends to conduct a "Shaheed Nijjar Kill India Referendum" to investigate the alleged involvement of Indian High Commissioner Verma in the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
In recent events, SFJ organized an unofficial Khalistan Referendum event at Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey on September 10, which reportedly saw a limited turnout from the Sikh community.
