Around 200 people gathered in central Delhi on Friday morning to denounce alleged assault on police and abusive words used for Prime Minister Narendra Modi at protests. The demonstration, gathered at Janpath at the call of the 'Lal Hit Janata Party', came a day before the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) is to mount a massive agitation at Jantar Mantar.

The new 'Lal Hit Janata Party', led byAyan Bhatnagar, is an outfit apparently named after a popular insect-control brand in a satirical counter to the CJP.

"Even if someone abuses an outsider, we tend to stop them. The prime minister is part of our own family, and using such language against him is unacceptable. Abusing our heroes, jawans and Delhi Police personnel must stop, and strict action should be taken against those responsible," Ayan Bhatnagar, who represented the outfit, said, as quoted by PTI.

The protesters stated that the current wave of protests, led by CJP, is the wrong way to seek a change in the system.

The 'Lal Hit Janata Party' demonstrations came after CJP announced a protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

The poll body head is besieged with allegations of voter list tampering under the garb of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and bypassing his two other colleagues in altering Form 6, a key document to register as a voter.

The youth-led CJP outfit, along with several student groups, have alleged that Kumar presided over the deletion of lakhs of voters' names across the country under the SIR, and further demand his resignation.

Meanwhile, the INDIA bloc is holding protests for three consecutive days against CEC Kumar and a near shutdown of central Delhi with heavy police deployment, metro gate closures, and barricading at key stretches.

Dipke, Dhruv Rathee join anti-SIR stir

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, YouTuber Dhruv Rathee, and actor-activist Prakash Raj are set to join the protest, demanding the scrapping of the electoral roll revision exercise and the resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar.

Earlier on Thursday, Dipke alleged that voter name deletions under the SIR aimed to disenfranchise those opposed to the BJP. He also accused PM Modi and the EC of "undermining" democracy.

Dipke raised slogans targeting CEC Kumar, saying, "Now, Gyanu, your turn has come", to quit, following former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Dipke's CJP is set to march to Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on October 10 demanding scrapping of the SIR exercise. He said the agitation will go ahead even if its leaders are detained or arrested.

Meanwhile, Dhruv Rathee alleged that there was "zero transparency and zero accountability from the Election Commission" regarding the SIR exercise.

The YouTuber alleged that 'Vote Chori' (vote theft) concerned every citizen irrespective of their political affiliation and stressed that his participation was not on behalf of any political party and said the issue should concern BJP supporters as well.
