Kolkata: The family members of the law college rape victim have reportedly moved the Calcutta High Court to be included as a party in the Public Interest Litigation (PIL). The first hearing is likely to be held on Thursday. The victim's family members have said they have faith in the investigation being done by the Kolkata Police.

On Wednesday, the charge of the investigation in the case was handed over to the Detective Department of Kolkata Police. The PIL seeking a CBI probe in the matter was filed at the division bench of Justice Soumen Sen and Justice Smita Das on June 30. However, the petitioners filing the PILs before the Calcutta High Court did not make the victim's family members a party in the case.

The three accused - Monojit Mishra, Zaib Ahmed, and Pramit Mukherjee - were arrested on Friday on charges of raping a woman inside a South Kolkata law college premises. Mishra and two others reportedly had links to Trinamool Congress' student wing Trinamool Chhatra Parishad. They were remanded to police custody till July 8 on Tuesday, after being produced before the court for the second time. On Saturday, a security guard was also arrested in connection with the case. He has been remanded for three days of police custody.
