Tourism Minister P A Mohammed Riyas inaugurated the district's first floating bridge on December 26, 2023. This marks the seventh floating bridge in the state, with dimensions of 100 meters in length and three meters in width.
Several people were including two children, were injured. Two individuals with serious injuries were referred to Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College.
The use of life jackets facilitated the quick and safe rescue of those on the bridge. The incident occurred around 5 pm on Saturday evening.
