Karnataka reports 21,794 new Covid-19 cases

Karnataka on Tuesday reported 21,794 new Covid-19 cases and 149 deaths, baffling the healthcare authorities. The discharges were just about a fifth at 4571 cases.

The positivity rate jumped to 14.77% and case fatality rate (CFR) to 0.68%.

The government conducted 1,47,488 swab tests for Covid.


Bengaluru Urban reported 13,782 cases and 92 deaths. Bidar reported seven deaths, though its new cases were lower at 151. Bengaluru Rural reported 13 deaths while Dharawada, Tumakuru, and Mysuru reported four deaths each.
