Karnataka's minister for medical education, skill development, entrepreneurship and livelihood Dr Sharan Prakash R Patil has underscored his state's significant progress in medical education and healthcare at the World Health Exhibition (WHX) Dubai 2026.

At the WHX today, Dr. Patil urged the global health community to unite in building stronger nations. "There should be no barriers or borders when addressing humanity's health challenges—a healthier population means a healthier nation," he said.

The three-day WHX Dubai 2026 features over 4,800 exhibitors from more than 180 countries, spanning major healthcare-technology markets. The exhibition showcases cutting-edge medical devices, imaging, diagnostics, healthcare IT, digital health, hospital infrastructure, and related services. Concurrently, multiple CME-accredited conferences, boot camps, and stages explore breakthrough research, AI/telehealth, and sustainable healthcare. Organizers expect around 270,000 professional visits from healthcare professionals, buyers, and decision-makers, with at least 33 international pavilions—including strong representation from China, Germany, the US, and the UK.

Dr. Patil visited the Aster DM Healthcare booth, where he commended the company's integrated healthcare model and its robust presence in the GCC and India. Dr. Azad Moopen and Alisha Moopen of Aster DM Healthcare introduced the minister to the hospital chain's comprehensive ecosystem, spanning primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary care, bolstered by advanced digital health initiatives. UAE Health and Prevention Minister Ahmed Al Sayegh was also present.

Later, Dr. Patil inaugurated Thumbay Medicity at the Thumbay Medical Centre, with Dr. Thumbay Moideen, founder president of Thumbay Group and Dr UT Ifthikar, chairperson of Karnataka State Allied Healthcare Council in attendance.
