Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has cleared 83 industrial projects involving a total investment of about Rs 6,253 crore in sectors including aerospace and defence, food processing, IT services, integrated industrial parks, sugar and ethanol, and renewable energy.

The approvals were granted at a meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Committee (SLSWCC), chaired by large and medium industries minister MB Patil.

Of the 83 projects, 69 will be established outside Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural districts, giving a boost to the state government’s ‘Beyond Bengaluru’ initiative aimed at promoting industrial development across Karnataka, the industries department said in a statement.

Projects involving investments of more than Rs 50 crore account for nearly Rs 4,703 crore, while another 57 projects with investments ranging from Rs 15 crore to Rs 50 crore account for about Rs 1,292 crore.

Among the major projects approved, Hyderabad-based Jaswin Ventures will invest Rs 475 crore to develop an integrated industrial park and mixed-use township in Doddaballapura taluk in Bengaluru Rural district.

Bengaluru-based civil contractor Jampana Construction will invest Rs 465 crore to develop an integrated industrial park in Doddaballapura, with warehousing, logistics, residential and commercial spaces. Shrishail Mallikarjun Distillery will invest Rs 453 crore to set up a sugar plant and ethanol production facility in Devarahipparagi taluk in Vijayapura district.

Axiscades Aerospace Infrastructure will invest Rs 426 crore to set up an aerospace and defence MRO and manufacturing cluster in Devanahalli taluk in Bengaluru Rural district.

EID Parry India will invest Rs 397 crore to set up a jaggery manufacturing facility in Bagalkote taluk.

Other projects approved include those by Leafiniti BioEnergy, Blueline Foods India, Sonder Projects and Lands, Arete 22, Sunstar Precision Forge, Sonder Infra, Blueline Infratech, Elmeasure India, ONDOT Corporate, GRB Dairy Foods, and Pathikonda Balasubbasetty and Son.

Industries department principal secretary S Selvakumar, commissioner Khushboo Goel, KIADB chief executive officer Govinda Reddy and Udyoga Mitra managing director Dodda Basavaraju were among the officials present at the meeting.
