Karnataka adds 34,804 new cases, one out of five tested was positive

Karnataka on Sunday reported 34,804 new Covid-19 cases, taking the active cases to and 2,62,162 and positivity rate to 19.70%.

Which means, one out of every five persons tested is turning out to be positive.

The state also reported 143 new Covid deaths. The discharges were just about a fifth of the new cases.


Bengaluru Urban reported 20,733 new cases along with 77 deaths. Ballari district stood second with 16 deaths.

Kodagu and Tumakuru districts crossed 1000-mark in new cases on Sunday.

The healthcare authorities conducted 1.76 lakh Covid tests on Sunday.
