Karbi Anglong unrest: Assam Govt, KAAC & protesters agree to seek HC order on VGR-PGR evictions
After violence in West Karbi Anglong’s Kheroni area, the Assam government and Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council agreed to seek an early Gauhati High Court order on eviction from grazing lands. The meeting also decided on fencing vacant VGR–PGR land, relocating government offices, cancelling trade licences and providing relief to victims’ families to restore peace.
