Karan Johar, Khushbu Sunder on panel to steer IFFI 2022

The committee, headed by I&B minister Anurag Thakur and co-chaired by Goa CM Pramod Sawant, will have 13 official members that include senior officials from the I&B ministry, Goa government and the Entertainment Society of Goa .

Filmmakers Karan Johar, Vipul Amrutlal Shah, Shoojit Sircar and actor-turned-politician Khushbu Sunder have been named on the reconstituted steering committee for the International Film Festival of India scheduled to be held in November 2022.

The committee, headed by I&B minister Anurag Thakur and co-chaired by Goa CM Pramod Sawant, will have 13 official members that include senior officials from the I&B ministry, Goa government and the Entertainment Society of Goa .

Central Board for Film Certification chairman Prasoon Joshi, lyricist and screenwriter Manoj Muntashir, actors Vani Tripathi, Hrishita Bhatt, singer Sukhwinder Singh, film-makers Nikhil Mahajan, Ravi Kottarakara, Bobby Bedi and Priyadarshan are also part of the new committee as non-official members.


The committee, according to an internal notification sent out by the ministry, will support the ministry in finalising the flow of IFFI, including planning workshops, master classes, seminars, chief guests and other aspects of the festival.

Apart from reviewing the planning, they will also ensure pan-India participation of the film industry and stakeholders in the festivals, select the international jury members and invite internationally acclaimed celebrities to the event.
