The arrests include Nauman Elahi from Uttar Pradesh, who worked as a guard in Panipat; Devender Singh Dhillon from Kaithal; Jyoti Malhotra from Hisar; and Arman from Nuh. Haryana Police made the arrests starting May 13. Multiple agencies are questioning all the accused. They are suspected of sharing important information about vital installations with Pakistani handlers.
TOI Sources indicate that on May 6, the day before "Operation Sindoor," Malhotra was in New Delhi and in contact with Danish, a staff member at the Pakistan High Commission, and others. The other accused individuals were also reportedly in contact with their handlers during this period.
Hisar SP Shashank Sawan stated, "In modern warfare, the enemy tries to set a positive narrative in its favour. The involvement of Malhotra suggests she helped them in setting narratives. This is how influencers and YouTubers are being roped in." Sawan added that central agencies had been monitoring Jyoti for some time and were also investigating another YouTuber from Odisha. Sources suggest Malhotra's income did not match her travel expenses, and some trips abroad may have been sponsored.
Investigators found that Arman, a Class XII dropout in his early 20s, was in contact with Pakistani handlers through a terrorist. He allegedly provided Indian mobile SIM cards to Pakistani intelligence officers using his identification. Arman also reportedly attended a defense expo and shared details with Pakistani agencies. He was arrested on May 15 in Firozpur Jhirka.
