Just do it: Piyush Goyal's message to Nike on investment in India

Washington: Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal had a simple message to the Nike leadership on investments in India - just do it.

Goyal met Nike COO Venkatesh Alagirisamy, Chief Legal Officer Rob Leinwand and Chief Government & Public Affairs Officer Jorge Casimiro.

"When it comes to investing in India's growth story, the message is simple: Just Do It," Goyal said in a post on X on Friday.

Goyal was in Milwaukee for the G20 Trade Ministers' Meeting.

"We discussed opportunities to build on Nike's longstanding engagement with India and explored avenues to deepen their presence across manufacturing, local sourcing, and the broader sports ecosystem," Goyal said about his meeting with Nike's senior leadership.
