Joshimath land subsidence: Demolition drive begins amid protests by locals
Demolition of hotels Mount View and Malari Inn began in Joshimath on January 15. Notably, Joshimath has been declared a land subsidence zone by the authorities. Over 600 houses and two hotels have been identified as unsafe and are set to be demolished by the government.
