NIA officials collect records and locker details of doctors from medical college; no new arrests made during raid
NEW DELHI: Investigation into the Red Fort blast and recovery of explosives has once again led the National Investigation Agency to the Government Medical College and its associated hospital in Anantnag district of southern Kashmir, where a rifle was allegedly recovered from a doctor's locker last November.

An NIA team along with officials of the Jammu & Kashmir Police and CRPF personnel visited GMC Anantnag and checked the official documents of Adeel Rather, from whose locker a rifle was allegedly recovered. They also sought details of Umar Nabi, a doctor who worked at that hospital for some time and allegedly carried out the Red Fort blast on November 10. Fifteen people including Nabi were killed in the blast.

Rather, who was arrested in November, was among the nine people-mostly doctors-arrested as part of the module that led to the recovery of explosives and inflammables from Faridabad in the National Capital Region.
