Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha on Friday terminated the services of two more government employees, including a teacher, for their alleged involvement in anti-national activities.

The two employees were identified as Khursheed Ahmad Rather, a teacher in the school education department from Karnah of Kupwara, and Siyad Ahmad Khan, an assistant stockman in Animal Husbandry department from Keran of Kupwara.

The orders issued by the administration stated that Sinha was satisfied that after considering the facts and circumstances of the case and on the basis of the information available that their activities were such as to warrant their dismissal from service. "In the interest of the security of the state it is not expedient to hold an inquiry," the administration said.

Services of as many as 80 government employees have been terminated since the J&K administration constituted a task force in 2021 to scrutinise government employees suspected of activities requiring action under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution.
