Ramesh Jarkiholi CD Scandal: Woman appears before court, SIT

Almost a month after the sleaze CD row broke out causing a political storm in Karnataka, the woman in the alleged scandal involving BJP MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi appeared before the judicial magistrate in Bengaluru on Tuesday and gave her statement. The young woman, who avoided appearance before the police all these days and was only releasing her statements through videos, gave her statement to the magistrate before heading to the office of the special investigation team (SIT) in Koramangala which is probing the case. Her identity was not made public.

On Monday, the woman’s advocate had sought the magistrate’s permission to record her statement claiming that she did not trust the police as it was allegedly acting at the behest of powerful political leader Jarkiholi. Her advocate also sought the immediate arrest of Jarkiholi.

The judge heard her in a location away from the court premises to maintain secrecy.
