Jammu Doda Cloudburst News: A cloudburst has been reported in Charu Nallah, Bhalesa region of Doda district in Jammu. Heavy rainfall has triggered flash floods in the district, leading to three deaths and widespread damage of property. Floodwaters have submerged residential areas. Mughal Maidan bridge in Kishtwar collapsed due to heavy rainfall on Tuesday.

"A cloudburst was reported in Charu Nallah of Bhalessa, the same spot where a similar disaster occurred three years ago. The administration has placed all officials on high alert to ensure timely rescue operations in case of emergencies, Deputy Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh said.

Authorities are on high alert for rescue operations as landslides disrupt road connectivity. The Chenab river crossed the danger mark in Ramban district. The authorities evacuated low-lying areas.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh spoke to Harvinder Singh. "According to him, a flash flood has been reported in the Charwa area of Bhalesa. So far, no casualty linked to this flash flood has been reported," Singh said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir Omar Abdullah will travel to Jammu to personally monitor the developing situation of incessant rains. The state government will issue additional funds to DCs for disaster relief measures and emergency restoration work.

"The situation is many parts of Jammu province is quite serious. I’ll be taking the next available flight from Srinagar to Jammu to personally monitor the developing situation," he said.

"In the mean time, instructions have been issued to place additional funds at the disposal of the DCs to cover emergency restoration work and other exigences," he added.

Incessant rains have caused water levels in streams and rivers to rise dangerously. In many areas, floodwaters entered residential localities, forcing the evacuation of families to safer places. People living close to rivers and streams have been urged to relocate to safer places, Singh said.

Three deaths were reported from the Gandoh area, while the Neeru river in Bhaderwah is flowing above the danger mark, he added.

On Tuesday morning, Divisional Commissioner Jammu issued an advisory for Basantar, Tawi, and Chenab rivers. "In light of medium to heavy rainfall forecasted in Jammu Division for next 40 hrs, water levels of River Basantar, Tawi, & Chenab are currently at 'Alert Level'," the advisory read.

The authority advised residents & visitor to stay away from riverbanks & flood-prone areas as a precautionary measure.

The District Magistrate (DM) of Jammu has issued emergency contact numbers for the citizens.

In the evening hours of Tuesday, a road near the fourth Tawi bridge got washed away as waterbodies swell following incessant heavy rainfall.
