Jalandhar Police bust Ankush 'Bhaya' gang, arrest lynchpin Sabharwal with links to organised criminal Goldy Brar

The Jalandhar Rural Police on Saturday arrested seven operatives of the Ankush Bhaya organized criminal gang, including the group's key figure, Ankush Sabharwal.

The Director General of Police of Punjab Gaurav Yadav made the announcement of the arrests via his official X account.

According to the Punjab police, this operation has unearthed connections between the gang and prominent US-based criminals Goldy Brar (accused of killing singer Sidhu Moosewala), Vikram Brar, and Ravi Balachoria.



DGP Yadav stated that the criminal module, led by Sabharwal, had planned attacks on rival criminal factions in Hoshiarpur, Mehatpur, and Nakodar, targeting various individuals.

Additionally, Lovepreet, also called Laddi, an international criminal, has been identified as being in contact with this gang, the Punjab Police stated.

The investigation also revealed that a police constable was involved in leaking sensitive information and providing logistical support to the criminals. During the raid, authorities seized four illegal pistols, seven live cartridges, 1,000 Alprazolam tablets, and a luxury car.

The bust also revealed the involvement of a police constable, who has been nabbed for allegedly leaking sensitive information to the criminals.

"A police constable has been arrested for leaking sensitive information and providing logistical assistance to the criminals. Investigations are ongoing to dismantle their broader network, both locally and internationally ," wrote DGP Yadav on X.
