Jaishankar: ‘Weaponising of finance, resources to exert influence' is making world more uncertain

Addressing representatives from various sections of Surinamese society in Paramaribo, India’s EAM S. Jaishankar spoke about the rapidly changing global order, warning of the “weaponisation” of finance, technology, resources and connectivity in international geopolitics. He said the world is becoming increasingly uncertain and risk-driven. Highlighting India’s growing global role, Jaishankar noted that India contributes 17% to global growth and is helping “de-risk” the international economy by expanding trade partnerships.
