Jaipur firecracker factory fire: Three dead, five injured in massive blaze

A devastating fire at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Jaipur's Khoh Nagoriyan area claimed three lives and left five others injured on Tuesday, triggering panic in the neighbourhood and prompting a large-scale emergency response.

The blaze, which broke out around 11:30 am, quickly engulfed parts of the factory, causing extensive damage to the premises and raising fears of further explosions due to the presence of combustible materials.

Officials said fire tenders, ambulances, police personnel and a Quick Response Team (QRT) were immediately dispatched after authorities received information about the incident.


The fire was brought under control within 20 to 25 minutes, preventing it from spreading to nearby areas.

"The fire brigade reached the spot promptly, and the fire was brought under control within approximately 20–25 minutes. So far, there have been three fatalities and five people have been injured," an official at the scene told PTI, adding that rescue and relief operations were launched without delay.

Authorities have begun a multi-agency investigation to determine the cause of the fire and assess whether safety norms were being followed at the facility.

A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) is on its way to the site to examine the nature of operations being carried out at the factory and identify the circumstances that led to the blaze.

Police have also initiated a parallel probe to ascertain whether any lapses or violations contributed to the incident.

The condition of the injured persons was not immediately known. Officials said a detailed assessment of the damage and the exact cause of the fire would emerge after the completion of the investigation.
