A senior prison official stated that Darshan had requested a TV last week to stay informed about his case and current events. "As per procedure and prison guidelines, he will be provided with a television in his cell most likely by Monday," the official told PTI.
Darshan, along with Pavithra Gowda and 15 others accused in the case, remains in judicial custody across various prisons in Karnataka. Police sources revealed that 33-year-old Renukaswamy, a fan of Darshan, allegedly sent inappropriate messages to Pavithra, which reportedly angered Darshan and led to Renukaswamy’s murder.
Raghavendra, a member of Darshan’s fan club in Chitradurga, allegedly lured Renukaswamy to a shed in Bengaluru’s R R Nagar under the guise of meeting the actor. It was in this location that Renukaswamy was reportedly tortured and killed. The post-mortem revealed that Renukaswamy, a native of Chitradurga, died from shock and haemorrhage caused by multiple blunt injuries.
As per PTI sources, Pavithra, listed as the main accused, played a significant role in the crime, allegedly instigating and conspiring with others to carry out the murder.
