IRCTC website, app down due to technical glitch. How to book train tickets

On logging into IRCTC website, this message appeared: "Due to maintenance activity e-ticketing service is not available. Please try later. For cancellation/file TDR, please call at customer care no. 14646,0755-6610661 & 0755-4090600 OR MAIL AT etickets@irctc.co.in."

IRCTC has entered into partnerships with many agencies like Amazon and Makemytrip under schemes like to complement its efforts to reach out to citizens for ease of ticketing. These B2C firms like Amazon and Makemytrip are integrated with IRCTC business to provide reserved e-ticketing services to customers directly through their websites or mobile Apps through IRCTC API. But all the integrations and operations are only done through IRCTC.
Some users said on Twitter that they were able to book train tickets through B2C firms while others said they were not successful.
IRCTC shares were trading 0.11 per cent lower in a Mumbai market that was flat. As the Indian economy recovers from the covid pandemic, rail travel has bounced back. For the year FY23 as a whole, IRCTC posted a lifetime high revenue of Rs 3,541.5 crore, which grew by 88.5% year-over-year. Net profit before exceptional items came in at Rs 978.7 crore versus Rs 663.6 crore in the previous year. The Board of Directors had recommended a final dividend of Rs 2 per share, taking the total dividend of Rs 5.5 per share for the financial year 2023, highest ever dividend declared by IRCTC so far.
