San Francisco: Extending the partnership with India is perhaps the most important thing the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris administration has done and, in the last year, the partnership has reached "escape velocity", US deputy secretary of state Kurt Campbell has said.

"Successive administrations in Washington and New Delhi have invested time and political capital to bring this partnership to greater and greater heights. But in the last year, I like to say, our partnership has reached 'escape velocity'," Campbell said at a summit organised by the US India Strategic Partnership Forum.

Speaking at the Indus-X summit, he termed US-India cooperation on critical technology important for "Indo-Pacific security".
