Indo Russia ‘Innopraktika’ Technology Hub seals four agreements at Innoprom India 2026

The Indo Russia ‘Innopraktika’ Technology Hub marked a defining moment at Innoprom India 2026, signing four strategic Memoranda of Understanding that deepen technology, innovation, and industrial ties between India and Russia.

Represented by CEO & Executive Director Debjit Chakraborty, the Indo Russia ‘Innopraktika’ Technology Hub formalized partnerships spanning artificial intelligence in healthcare, advanced electronics manufacturing, cross-border investment facilitation, and a new India–Russia Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence (CoE) — underscoring the Hub’s role as a vital bridge between the two nations’ innovation ecosystems.

The most institutionally ambitious of the four agreements, this Cooperation Agreement unites the Indo Russia ‘Innopraktika’ Technology Hub with the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the RUSSOFT Software Developers Association in a shared commitment to establish an India–Russia Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, to be hosted through the Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization “Gorky Tech.” Conceived as a non-commercial, collaborative endeavor, the Centre will serve as a platform for joint project implementation and the exchange of knowledge between the two nations’ technology communities, grounded, as the agreement itself states, in equality, mutual benefit, understanding, respect, and trust. It is less a single project than the seed of an institution, one designed to outlast any one deal and anchor India–Russia collaboration in AI and cybersecurity for years to come.

A Threefold Initiative

(a) Company-to-Company Collaboration: the Centre of Excellence will focus on the incubation, nurturing, and growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from both the Russian and Indian sides, building direct, enduring pathways for cross-border enterprise partnerships.

(b) Strategic Collaboration: anchored by the India–Russia Sovereign AI & Technology Trust Framework, a structured “AI Sandbox” process spanning company onboarding, validation and benchmarking, responsible AI evaluation, SovereignCentergeneration, and marketplace activation. The framework is designed to operationalize trust between the two ecosystems: assessing governance, compliance, and AI risk; producing standardized, public-facing TrustCenter; and, in doing so, reducing procurement friction, accelerating the adoption of validated AI solutions, and strengthening bilateral Russia–India technology trade.

(c) Academic Collaboration: the Centre of Excellence will engage with leading academic institutions, including IIT Gandhinagar, to foster mutual student and faculty exchange, embedding research and knowledge-sharing at the heart of the India–Russia technology partnership.

Bridging Technology and Investment, with RDIF and Panorama

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF, the sovereign wealth fund of Russia), India’s Panorama Electronics Pvt Ltd and the Indo Russia ‘Innopraktika’ Technology Hub have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at promoting Russian high-technology companies and their solutions in the Indian market and Indian companies entering the Russian market. Russia’s sovereign wealth fund established in 2011 to make equity co-investments, primarily in Russia, alongside reputable international financial and strategic investors. RDIF acts as a catalyst for direct investment in the Russian economy. Currently, RDIF has experience in the successful joint implementation of more than 100 projects with foreign partners totaling more than 2.4 tn Rubles.

The agreement will help bring together technology capabilities, market expertise and investment capacity of both nations and develop long-term Russian-India technology partnership. Priority areas of cooperation include artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, data analytics and medical technologies (medical devices, diagnostics, digital health, rehabilitation, etc.). Projects in cybersecurity, digital and IT infrastructure, industrial digitalization and smart infrastructure will also be a focus for RDIF, Panorama Electronics and the Indo Russia ‘Innopraktika’ Technology Hub.

RDIF will contribute its institutional capabilities, investment expertise and network to promote promising Russian high-technology companies and cooperation projects in India and Indian companies entering the Russian market. Panorama will act as the technology and business partner for the initiative in the Indian market while the Indo Russia ‘Innopraktika’ Technology Hub will serve as an institutional bridge and coordination platform between the Russian and Indian technology ecosystems, helping to build a sustainable network of technology, business, research and educational partnerships.

A New Joint Venture, with NexTouch

With Joint-Stock Company ‘NEX-T’ (NexTouch), represented by Alexey Rogatnev, Head of the Department for International Cooperation, the Indo Russia ‘Innopraktika’ Technology Hub set its sights on India’s manufacturing and public-sector future. The two parties expressed their mutual intent to establish a joint venture on Indian soil; one built to promote and sell NexTouch-branded equipment while positioning the partnership to compete for major government and institutional projects across the country. It is a partnership rooted not just in commerce, but in ambition — an intent to build lasting industrial presence, not just supply a market.

AI in Healthcare, with SberMedAI

In a signing that points toward the future of medicine itself, the Indo Russia ‘Innopraktika’ Technology Hub entered into a Memorandum of Cooperation with SberMedAI LLC, represented by General Director Viktor Aleksandrovich Ushakov. The agreement establishes a framework for the two organizations to explore how artificial intelligence and information technology can transform healthcare delivery, from diagnostics to clinical decision-making, with specific projects, timelines, and terms to be shaped through future dedicated agreements. It is a quiet but significant first step toward bringing Russian medical AI expertise into dialogue with India's vast and fast-evolving healthcare landscape.

A Growing Bridge Between Two Innovation Ecosystems
