India's special package for J&K more than IMF's bailout for Pakistan: Rajnath Singh
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh criticized Pakistan for using international financial aid to support terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking at an election rally, he highlighted that India's development package for J&K is significantly larger than...
Speaking at an election rally in Gurez, he accused Pakistan of misusing financial aid from other countries to fund terrorist activities in J&K. "Modiji has given a special PM's package for Jammu and Kashmir. It has been increased to nearly ₹90,000 crore ($10.7 billion). Our government has given much more money for Jammu and Kashmir than the amount for which the whole of Pakistan was pleading before the IMF," Singh said.
The comment came days after the International Monetary Fund (IMF) approved a $7 billion loan for cash-strapped Pakistan after months of negotiations. Singh said while India is spending money on development, Pakistan keeps funding terror. "The money we spend is for the development of Jammu and Kashmir, to improve the lives of the people here. Whereas Pakistan has been misusing financial aid for a long time. Pakistan runs a terror factory by taking money from other countries," he said.
He said that Pakistan has been exposed before the world for spreading terror and the business of supporting terror groups would not last long.
