To be held from September 13 to 19, the conference will bring together parliamentarians from across the Commonwealth to deliberate on issues concerning parliamentary democracy, international law and the evolving global order.
The main theme of the conference is "Strengthening International Law and Parliamentary Democracy in a Changing World Order: Commonwealth Leadership."
Addressing the delegates here on Tuesday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla placed special emphasis on the role of the Indian delegation during discussions at the conference.
He urged all members of the delegation to actively participate in the sessions and workshops.
According to the Lok Sabh Secretariat, he emphasised that members should articulate their views effectively during discussions so that India's national interests and viewpoints can be strongly presented and safeguarded on the global stage.
Presiding officers of various state legislatures are also part of the delegation.
