Indonesia’s Minister of Defense and President-elect Prabowo Subianto received a courtesy call from the Indian Ambassador to Indonesia, Sandeep Chakravorty on Wednesday.

Indonesia’s Minister of Defense and President-elect Prabowo Subianto received a courtesy call from the Indian Ambassador to Indonesia, Sandeep Chakravorty on Wednesday.

Prabowo congratulated Chakraborty on his appointment as the new Indian Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor Leste, and expressed that this visit was proof of the strong and enduring friendship between the two countries.

“I am sure that H.E. will be able to increase cooperation and foster harmonious relations between the two countries. "The Ministry of Defense is ready to cooperate," said Prabowo.


Prabowo also expressed satisfaction with the results of the bilateral meeting at the 7th Joint Defense Cooperation Committee (JDCC) 2024 in New Delhi last week and hoped that through collaborative efforts, the two countries can continue to strengthen ties of friendship and achieve mutual prosperity.

Last week a defence industry seminar was also organised in Jakarta.
