Indian Army Chief says Global order shifted from bipolarity to 'Uncertain & Fractured' state

Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi on Thursday warned that the world is moving from the Cold War’s bipolarity through a brief unipolar phase into an “uncertain and fractured" state, signalling the decline of long-standing global peace. Speaking at the Chanakya Defence Dialogue 2025, General Dwivedi said, “In an increasingly multipolar world where major powers are continuously jostling and competing, the world has moved from the Cold War’s bipolarity through a brief unipolar moment into an uncertain and fractured order."
