A new report by Primus Partners titled 'India’s turn to lead by 2047' revealed that 70 per cent of respondents are confident in India's potential to become a global leader by 2047, as outlined in the vision of Viksit Bharat.

This optimism is mirrored in the 63 per cent who envisioned India as a powerhouse in global trade, technology, and economy, says the report.

The report includes contributions from over 30 experts including Amitabh Kant, G20 Sherpa; Dr. Charan Singh, CEO and Founder Director, EGROW Foundation; Baba Kalyani, Chairman and Managing Director, Bharat Forge Limited; Guneet Monga, Film Producer; Dr. Anil Agrawal, Member of Parliament; Dr. Fauzia Khan, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha; Richard Rekhy, Former CEO, KPMG India; retired and existing civil servants, prominent members of industry, academia, and others.


“Backed by civilizational ethos and confidence, the nation is on a mission to constructively reform itself and harness its strengths. India seeks to propel itself toward a future that not only uplifts its own people but resonates with the betterment of all humanity because when India grows, the world grows,” said Amitabh Kant, G20 Sherpa, Former CEO NITI Aayog in the report’s foreword.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while delivering interim Budget 2024-25 presentation last week reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s claim of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.

On the other side of the spectrum, 27 per cent of respondents believed that rural India remained disconnected from urban centres, pointing to a critical need for improvement in connectivity and infrastructure to bridge this divide, said the report.

Another key finding suggested that 16 per cent of respondents across geographies envisioned a developed India as one of the largest economies globally and one with a higher GDP per capita.

In addition to this, the report revealed that 42 per cent of surveyed people were already familiar with the government's plans for 2047.
