'India stands with Israel': PM Modi condemns terrorist attacks in Jewish nation
After Hamas militants attacked Israel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday reaffirmed support for the nation. As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel is at war, Modi labelled them as "terrorist attacks" in Israel.

"Deeply shocked by the news of terrorist attacks in Israel. Our thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with Israel at this difficult hour," Modi said.

At least 22 Israelis were killed in a surprise strike by Hamas terrorists from Gaza at dawn on Saturday, despite Prime Minister Netanyahu's declaration of "war" and his country's intention to exact a "unprecedented price" from its adversary.

According to Israel's national rescue agency, the Hamas military incursion resulted in minimum 22 fatalities and hundreds of injuries, making it the worst Israeli operation in years.

Naor Gilon, Israel's Ambassador to India said that the "situation is not normal" but "Israel will prevail".
