This monumental flagpole, which costs Rs 3.5 crore, has been established by the National Highways Authority of India and is mounted on a 4-foot pedestal located 100 meters from the 360-foot-high flagpole erected by the Amritsar Improvement Trust in 2017.
Soldiers and visitors at the Attari-Wagah border near Amritsar will soon have the opportunity to witness the Indian tricolor flying high once again. As per a TOI report, India is preparing to install a national flag on a pole that stands an impressive 418 feet tall, surpassing the Pakistan flagpole in height.

In response to India's tricolor flying atop a 360-foot pole on the border, Pakistan had erected its own 400-foot-high national flagpole six years ago. However, India's new 418-foot-tall flagpole is now ready for inauguration. The event was initially scheduled to take place in a few days, but it was postponed due to unforeseen reasons that emerged at the last moment, necessitating a reconsideration of the event's timing.

This monumental flagpole, which costs Rs 3.5 crore, has been established by the National Highways Authority of India and is mounted on a 4-foot pedestal located 100 meters from the 360-foot-high flagpole erected by the Amritsar Improvement Trust in 2017. Following the installation of the Indian flagpole, Pakistan responded by installing its own 400-foot-tall flagpole on its side during its 70th Independence Day celebrations.

Sources have indicated that Pakistan's flagpole may have served purposes beyond symbolism. "Their pole is fitted with cameras, raising concerns about potential espionage," noted one source. It is speculated that India's new flagpole may come equipped with advanced security features.

The National Highways Authority of India is reported to have kept five to six national flags on standby for the inauguration, each measuring 120x80 feet and weighing 90 kilograms. As the inauguration date approaches, anticipation mounts for the momentous event at the Attari-Wagah border.
